Dear HHB Friends & Family:
My name is Deon Hunter, president and director of Hoop Hunter Basketball Inc. (26 years).
Last week I received a call from one of our former HHB trainers, Coach Ngwolo who is currently the Head Boys Basketball Coach and a Teacher at Marshall High School (at Willowridge) in Missouri City, Texas. This is one of the areas hit hard by the recent hurricane.
Coach Ngwolo informed me that their entire school was flooded and this caused damage to all of their athletic equipment. Most of the families who live in the area suffered damage to their homes; lost personal clothing items and some even lost their jobs. Life for them is still in disarray.
Thankfully the school has reopened, yet the school district doesn’t have the needed funds to replace the items that were lost due to the flooding.
This is where our Hoop Hunter Family
has a chance to help this struggling program.
Both basketball teams (girls and boys) are in immediate need of lightly worn or new tennis shoes, sizes 9-11 (boys) and 7.5-8.0 (girls). The basketball athletic department is in need of: a heavy duty ball locker, medicine balls, shoulder resistance harness and a speed sac, together these items total roughly $1.500.00.
So… You can bring lightly worn or new tennis shoes to the Hoop Hunter gym by November 21st or donate online through Building Believers.org (put Willowridge High School in the note section) or donate directly to Marshall High School Basketball program by clicking that button.
Thank you in advance,
Deon Hunter
